Sarah is a political icon and she is not going away. You betcha!

QUEEN’S CONJECTURE ON SARAH PALIN:
I believe that Sarah Palin quit primarily because of the constant barrage against her not only from the Democrats but also the Republicans in Alaska. Both sides show no sign of letting up. And some of these charges are frivolous–especially when you consider the crap that Ted Stevens got away with for YEARS!
Her withdrawal as governor was not a hasty decision. I’m sure she spent several months considering all angles before announcing what to some was a shocking resignation announcement. Sarah Palin is nothing if not a political animal. Although she is certainly not as polished [yet] as the wily Senators and Representatives in DC who have been at it for 30 or 40 years, Sarah Palin is a quick study. Remember the comeback she made in the debates against Joe Biden? Everyone expected her to crumble on that one–especially after the Katie Couric interview. Instead, she held her own against Biden.
Sarah sat down and thought it through: “I can stay up here in Alaska and be treated like this and continue to fight law suits and resistance to all my appointments and legislation (thus looking like an ineffectual politician) OR I can get out now and go a different route.
No doubt she has at least one book deal in the works that is worth millions—so why stay in Alaska and torture herself?
I think she will lay low for a few months in Alaska, fishing, etc. Perhaps working some with a ghost writer for one of her books. Then in the fall I expect her to be offered a Fox show. She would be a huge draw. Even Democrats like me would be curious to see what she would do.
She will use her show as a base to build her power. Palin would be a huge draw for politicians who might be on the outs with the “common” people. Sarah’s endorsement would be a huge draw for them for people who don’t have a college or even high school education. Those are her people among whom she has a large following.
She, like Bush, can collect handsome funds in speeches. You just wait. In 2010, she will be earning more than Bush from her speeches
Palin will be a political force for the Republicans to deal with in 2012. She may be a damned if they do, damned if they don’t candidate. Without her, if she runs as an independent, she will take enough votes that they could never win. With her, what few smart Republicans left might desert the party.
A lot of her success depends in great part on what the Obama administration and the Democrats do. If they continue to alienate mainstream Americans as they have been with the war, continued giveaways to wall street bankers, and with caving in to corporate demands on healthcare, then anything can happen in 2012—and even 2010 with the balance in Congress.
Sarah Palin is telling the truth when she says that we are in a class war. She is also telling the truth when she says that a lot of the bias against her is a class-based bias. It will be interesting if the multimillionaires in the Senate and the House wake up in time to the power of the majority or not.
I know that the progessive Democrats are already thinking of candidates to run against the hedgefund wall-street Democrats. It is a class war and the smart politicians who want to surive will remember that it is the middle and working class who form the majority.
