As far as I’m concerned most of the American mainstream media commit crimes against humanity  with the propaganda that they churn out on a daily basis.

For example, what has Sarah Palin ever accomplished for the people?  What legislation has she influenced that benefited the people?  What has she ever done other than promote herself to the status of a multimillionaire.  She didn’t even serve out her term as governor of Alaska.  Her understanding of the world is so limited and silly that she speaks in nonsensical rhetoric such as the possibility of Putin “rearing his ugly head. . .”  Yet mainstream media side-show Bobs for Wall Street like Stephanopoulos of ABC asked President Obama in April of 2010 to comment on Sarah Palin’s comment that Obama’s new nuclear stance is too soft and leaves the United States vulnerable to attacks.To his credit, the President replied:  “I really have no response. Because last I checked, Sarah Palin’s not much of an expert on nuclear issues.”  More Americans need to follow the President’s example and stop giving side-show-Bobs like Palin the credibility that they don’t deserve.

Then real American heroes, like Bernie Sanders, who actually do stand up for the American people and actually do force their fellow members once in a while to pass decent legislation for the MAJORITY–what do they get from mainstream media?  They get dismissal as a “radical liberal.”

But one could hardly expect less when one considers the neocon-war mongering ownership of mainstream media:  Rupert Murdoch with FOX News and more recently the WSJ which already is beginning to look a lot like Fox; Sumner Redstone who owns CBS, Viacom and other media outlets [ Like all conservatives in power, including the current administration, Redstone would silence all dissent. in July 2010, Redstone was caught on tape, trying to find the source of an apparently embarrassing leak within his own MTV. Redstone offered money and protection to a journalist if he would give up his source.]; General Electric (GE) owns NBC and all its various spinoffs such as MSNBC.  GE is also the largest war contractor in the world.  In 2009 they report over $5 billion profit and yet thanks to the generosity 9of the US Congress of which 82 own GE stock) GE didn’t pay a cent of income tax;  Then there is ABC, owned by the Disney corporation. These are the people who sponsor such meaningful presidential debates as the one in 2008 that featured Hillary and Obama being asked such important questions as what they thought about flag pins and Reverend Wright.

SO WHY, MIGHT YOU ASK DO THE REPUBLICANS AND CONSERVATIVES RAIL ABOUT “THE LIBERAL MEDIA”?

That, my friend is a classic propaganda technique–to call black white and white black.  If you stand up and tell a huge lie and tell it often enough, people will come to accept it as the truth.  Familiarity with the message increases the acceptance of misinformation and outright lies as the truth by the populace.

AGAIN WE GO BACK TO THAT IMPORTANT ADMONITION FROM THE QUEEN:  If America and our Democracy are to survive, we must begin to think.  We must begin to be the ones to formulate that questions–not the people in control and not their media.

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT A NEO-CON LIKE SUMNER REDSTONE IS A LIBERAL? [As mentioned above, Redstone is not above paying money to silence dissent.]

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT A NETWORK RUN BY THE DISNEY CORPORATION IS LIBERAL? [Among other things, its founder, Walt Disney, accused the Screen Actors Guild of being a Communist front, and charged that the 1941 strike was part of an organized Communist effort to gain influence in Hollywood.  Does that sound like liberal to you? ]

DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT A NETWORK RUN BY GENERAL ELECTRIC THE LARGEST WAR CONTRACTOR IN THE WORLD  IS LIBERAL? [Please!  Just ask Mike Gravel, the only liberal Democratic candidate for President in 2008.  General Electric had their journalistic puppet, Todd, tell Mr. Gravel that he could not participate in the presidential debate because he had not earned a million dollars.  This is a liberal network?  Just because they allow the only three liberal pundits(Olbermann, Maddow and Ed Schultz) on any mainstream media network a voice on their channel does not make them liberal.  They do this because it makes money, not because they agree with the viewpoints.  AND did you not notice that they suspended Olbermann for daring to give money to liberal candidates.  Have you not also noticed that Rachel Maddow is now talking about how she "admires" Glenn Beck.]

FOX NEWS?  SURELY EVEN THE MOST SHELTERED OF AMERICANS DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT FOX NEWS IS LIBERAL. Fox news is little more than a long running, 24/7 nonstop infomercial for the most conservative viewpoints in the nation.

SO WHERE IS THE “LIBERAL BIAS TO THE MEDIA”?

Perhaps in 15 hard-copy and online journals/sites such as the Huffington Post and Salon–in other words, as far as mainstream media goes, it is non-existent with the exception of three shows:  Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and The Ed Show.

If you want to count comedy, you can add Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report.
