What Americans really want: single payer health insurance and no war in the Middle East
RESULTS FROM December 10, 2009
As previously mentioned on this site, I began keeping a poll with three choices for health care: public option, single payer and status quo. I began the poll in September. It has consistently reported that Single payer is the first choice by more than twice as much for either of the other choices. In the beginning, Status Quo was ahead of the Public Option. However NEVER in all this time have either the public option or status quo even been in the neighborhood of Single Payer–the health system used successfully by the countries of Europe.

As far as no war in the Middle East: The American people are concerned, we elected a new Congress in 2006 on the mandate to end the war in Iraq. And what did they do instead? They rubber-stamped George Bush’s request to send 100,000 more American soldiers over there.
Now we elected a president, Barack Obama, who pretended to be a reformer, a person who represented “real” change. And what has HE done? Nothing but restate the Bush and Clinton legacies of corruption for the rich. Only he is actually worse because he and his administration continue to pretend that this is not what they are doing.
THE COMMON DENOMINATOR IS THAT THE OBAMA, BUSH AND CLINTON ADMINISTRATIONS ALL REPRESENT WEALTH WALL STREET INTEREST FIRST. ANOTHER COMMON DENOMINATOR IS THAT ALL THREE ARE MULTIMILLIONAIRES.
There are 263 multimillionaires in the Senate–at least 200 of them should be replaced.
I can tell you one thing already: Although I campaigned for Barack Obama. Although i contributed several hundred dollars to his campaign in 2008, I will actively campaign against him in 2012.
Joe Wilson was wrong in the specifics of what he call Obama a liar on; however, he was right in the spirit of this denouncement. Barack Obama has lied to the American people if only by lies of omission and misrepresentation of who he really is.
NO OBAMA IN 2012.

In 2008, the American people had to make one of two bad choices: Obama or McCain.
While we did make the best of the two horrible choices, we can do better in 2012 by making sure that better choices are on the ballot–choices that are put there by the American people and not the corporate owned media.
