Health Care is only Part of the Problem! Control of Our Economy and the Establishment of Democracy is the rest of the issue
One good thing about our fight for health care in the USA that this ridiculous struggle has made obvious to many the fact that until the majority of the people in this country have control over our economy, we will never have a true democracy.
It’s the ones who have control over the purse strings who have control over the economy.
In a Real Democracy, the PEOPLE have control over their Economy
IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT 75% OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT A STRONG PUBLIC OPTION AND 65% WANT A SINGLE PAYER AND THOSE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT US IN WASHINGTON ARE STILL ARGUING ABOUT IT.
THAT ALONE SHOULD GIVE THE REST OF US A CLUE ABOUT OUR TRUE GOVERNMENT.

Of course, other clues include the fact that the upper 1% who have more wealth than the 95% of the rest of the people should be another indication of the state of our “democracy.” These people have literally bought out our elected officials in Congress. Of course many in our Congress are multimillionaires and already belong to the upper 1% of the wealthiest club.
These people are the ones who benefit from not raising minimum wage for 10 years–and then not without a huge fight.
These are the people who benefit from not having a single payer healthcare system and making them pay their fair share of taxes. Our Congress should not even be having a discussion about whether or not to have a strong public option.
*******************************************************************
Most of the upper 1% do not care about the rest of us. This should have been more than obvious a long time ago. Something is wrong with a system when corporations such as banks like Goldman Sachs, war contractors and insurance companies are the largest contributors to elected officials and indeed the President of the United States. This is evil and it must stop.
Do these people care about the majority in the USA? Hell no. If banks cared they would not continue to gouge the American people with their usurious credit card rates when we are in the midst of a depression. Corporations have for years fired thousands of employees even during times when their profits were sky high–why? Because they could make even squeeze more money our for their shareholders by firing thousands of workers.
Frankly, Wall Street is the most evil and undemocratic institution that has ever burdened the people. It is a casino for the rich.

Do you know why mainstream media raises such hell about Venezuela and refuses to report the real news on Honduras?
It’s because 1) Venezuela has a government that is a helluva lot closer to a democracy than the oligarchy of the rich that we have in the USA and 2) the people of Honduras are fighting for their own democracy against the top 1% of their country.
