MR. PRESIDENT, YES WE CAN HAVE SINGLE PAYER.  YES WE CAN HAVE SINGLE PAYER–NOT SOME DAY BUT THIS YEAR!

I read in THE NEW YORK TIMES an article titled “Two Sides take Health Care Debate Outside Washington“.

Apparently President Obama is going out on the trails in an offensive against the Health Insurance companies.

This is good, but not if the President forgets to hold every American responsible for the current privatized institution in this country that passes for “healthcare” and ranks 37th in the nations of the world.  Because it is only with the mobilization of the majority of Americans that will will be able to effect any significant change in healthcare.

THE FIRST RING OF EVIL — THE CORE

1.  First there are the health care corporate CEOs and boards of directors who run these companies:  They, like Wall Street bankers, are so infused with greed that they are oblivious to humanity.  You are not going to teach these people a damn thing, sir, and if you think you are, then you are wasting your breath.  They are so entrench in the defenses of what they do that you will never get through to them.

2.  Then there are the preferred shareholders in these health care corporations.  A few of them MIGHT listen, but most of them, like the CEOS of these corporations, are too bound by their own greed to endorse significant change in the system.

These two groups comprise only a few hundred people and they are at the heart of our current corrupt health care system in the USA. A few hundred people are holding the American people hostage! We the people are like an elephant who has been tethered with a string.  We need to wake up and realize our power in our democracy, stand up and say NO MORE.  It is not acceptable that 18,000 Americans needlessly die each year so that these people can have more money than they will ever be able to spend.  What they have is blood money.  The blood of Americans on their hands.

WHAT I, as an American, have to say to these people:  No, you do not have a right to continue business as usual–not when your business as usual results in the needless deaths of 18,000 Americans EVERY YEAR! That is unAmerican.

THE SECOND RING OF EVIL — THE MINIONS OF THE EVIL CORE

3.  Health care lobbyists. These people, (like the CEO’s, the boards of directors and preferred shareholders) are not likely to be convinced to let go the million of dollars their firms make every year.  I would not waste my breath on them either.

4. Members of Congress who take money from health care lobbyists and then represent them over the best interests of the majority of Americans.

We can do something about these people. We can identify them and vote them out of office.  Any elected official who supports the needless deaths of 18,000 Americans does not deserve to be in Congress.

5. Corporate owned and sponsored mainstream media - Neocons like Sumner Redstone, Rupert Murdoch and the CEO’s of General Electric who own mainstream media won’t even allow the debate of single payer healthcare insurance.

Americans can do what the Queen has.  We can stop watching these propaganda machines and seek our news from other less corporate interest filtered sources such as first hand accounts on the Internet.  I know we have to filter this information ourselves too, but I find it much closer to the truth that the interpretations reported on mainstream media.  and yes that is what we get CORPORATE  INTERPRETATIONS–NOT UNBIASED NEWS.  Instead of news, we get right-wing opinion.

THE THIRD RING OF EVIL–THOSE WHO SUCUMB TO THE INERTIA OF THE STATUS QUO

6. Some could even argue that these traitors are the worst of all because THEY KNOW BETTER!  These are the Congressmen, and yes, even you, Mr. President, who say that Single Payer is the best and the only solution that can ensure all Americans and yet, when asked to support that solution, you say things like “the votes aren’t there”, or it’s against “American Values” [as if the needless deaths of 18,000 Americans are our values?].

7. Many Americans who say things like “you can’t fight city hall”, when it’s the rich against poor, the rich always win, the votes are not there, etc.  and then they themselves do nothing.

NOTHING BEGETS NOTHING.  NOTHING BEGETS STATUS QUO.  NOTHING BEGETS THE CONTINUED ANNUAL SITUATION OF 18,000 AMERICANS NEEDLESSLY DYING BECAUSE THEY CANNOT AFFORD HEALTH CARE.  THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!

This can change and in a  heart beat.  You know better.  You can step up to the plate and fight for you know is the best solution. It’s not like there are a few of you. There are many. For example, look at the number of elected officials who have signed John Conyers HR 676 a unique single payer bill that is designed for America.

THE FOURTH RING OF EVIL-IGNORANCE AND FEAR OF AMERICANS

7. Because a lot of Americans don’t understand what Single Payer Healthcare is, they are prey to the emotional appeals based on fear that those in the first and second rings of evil crank out from their propaganda machines.

THE FIFTH RING –THE RING OF TRIUMPH WITH EDUCATION AND ANGER

8. That’s right, Mr. President, to win this battle in the month of August, there can be no half measures. If you go out there and try to support the half-baked solution that Max Baucus and his gang of six who represent barely 4% of the American people hatched, you are going to lose your ass to put it bluntly.

You must go for the only real solution there is  SINGLE PAYER. The bill HR 676 is already written, has been signed by many co-sponsors, and is on the books.  You don’t have to start from scratch to implement this solution.  Many in Congress AND the majority of Americans 59% of us are behind this.

If you go out there namby pamby, talking “compromise”  those from rings one and two will have you for lunch.

FIGHT THEIR CAMPAIGN OF FEAR WITH ONE OF ANGER AND TRUTH

Right back at them, sir, with anger.  Tell the people and tell them again and again that 18,000 of them will needlessly die this year so that we can maintain the status quo of a few hundred rich people.

That is exactly what it boils down to.  ARE 18,000 AMERICANS PER YEAR GOING TO HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DIE SO THAT A FEW HUNDRED PEOPLE CAN ENJOY UNIMAGINABLE WEALTH?

ARE WE GOING TO ALLOW THIS SITUATION TO CONTINUE IN THE  USA OR ARE WE GOING TO START ACTING LIKE WE HAVE A DEMOCRACY?
