Let’s personalize this statistic for members Congress:  18,000 American needlessly die each year because they do not have health care insurance.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SERVE IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: This means that this number of unnecessary deaths translates to approximately 45 times the number of your membership of 435 Every year!

Those of you who support the status quo, pretending that we have the “best” health care in the world, when in fact we rank 37th will not bring back those 18,000 Americans who will needlessly die this year because they cannot afford privatized health care but your vote can prevent more Americans from dying needlessly.

How high do the bodies have to pile before you can swallow your “ideology” and admit that it does not serve Americans in the 21st century?  or is it different because it does not touch you or your families.  After all, you enjoy the closest thing we have to single payer in this country.  The American people pay 75% of your health care insurance.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO SERVE IN THE SENATE: This means that this number of unnecessary deaths translates to 180 times the number of your membership of 100. Every year! That’s a lot of empty chair at a lot of family dinner tables–all because you continue to not pass effective legislation that will provide Americans with the same luxury of healthcare that you enjoy–PAID FOR BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. And you continue to put up your excuses and justifications instead of doing the right thing and representing 76% of the American people.
