How high is the interest in Occupy? It depends on who you ask.
If you ask the mainstream media or most of the members of Congress, they will tell you that the various Occupy groups that are springing up in cities all over the USA are just a “ragtag mob”, a bunch of disorganized hippies.
However if you go visit the Facebooks and the web sites for the various Occupy groups, and find out the facts for yourself like a responsible citizen, you will get a different picture.
Following are citizen facts as of Saturday Morning October 8, 2011 taken from the Facebooks of only a tiny fragment of the 832 cities (and still counting) who are participating in the true grassroots movement. From a sample of only fifteen cities (remember 832 so far are participating) we have almost a quarter of a million who have selected “like” on the official Occupy Facebooks for these cities. 245,979 people to be exact.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that millions of Americans are engaged and participating in the Occupy protests all over the USA. This is not a “mob”. This is the majority. It’s time that state, local and national governments woke up and started acting like they represent the majority instead of special interests who line their pockets.
