Wednesday is a big day for Obama: 30 minute infomercial, appearance on stage with Bill, and guest on The Daily Show!
Not only will Barack Obama be featured on a 30 minute infomercial tomorrow night, we will also get to see the less serious side of him on The Daily Show later that same evening. AND, let us not forget, Wednesday is also the day that is slated for Barack Obama’s first appearance with Bill Clinton.
ABOUT THE INFOMERCIAL
Obama’s infomercial will be broadcast at 8PM Eastern Time on CBS, NBC, MSNBC and Fox. The first two networks sold the time for the cost of $1 million each, according to published reports. Fox even agreed to delay the first pitch of Game 6 of the World Series by 15 minutes to allow the network to air the Obama commercial.
John McCain made a direct appeal to baseball lovers this morning when he mocked Obama by saying: “No one will delay the World Series with an infomercial when I’m president.” LOL. It’s about McCain’s memory. He forgot that his own convention speech this summer forced a change in the start time of the NFL’s season opener, which started an hour and a half earlier to accommodate McCain’s speech.
ABOUT THE APPEARANCE WITH BILL CLINTON AT AN EVENING RALLY IN ORLANDO FLORIDA–THE FIRST TIME SINCE OBAMA’S NOMINATION THAT THE TWO OF THEM WILL BE ON STAGE AT THE SAME TIME
I know that one should never look a gift horse in the mouth and especially if it is a Democratic jackass like Bill Clinton, but being a Queen, I will. In asking the question–Why at this late date is Clinton doing this? The best answer that I could find that made sense to me is that Barack Obama stands poised, according to most of the polls, to capture the largest percentage of the white vote since 1964. Yes, even more than Bill Clinton–and all this without Clinton’s enthusiastic support. Now it is Clinton who must eat the crow.
On Oct 25, the most recent Gallup polling that includes about 13,000 interviews shows that 44 percent of non-Hispanic white voters presently support Obama. This is the highest number for a Democrat since 47 percent of whites backed Jimmy Carter in 1976.
If this percentage holds, Barack Obama will even beat Bill Clinton in 1996 who got 43 percent of the white vote. A Pew Polling shows that white women believe by a 49 to 35 percent margins that Obama will do a better job than McCain of improving the economy. more
